Honda CB650R Exhaust Upgrades: Best Slip-On and Full Systems

The Honda CB650R is one of the most popular entry-to-mid-class naked bikes in Europe. Its 649cc inline-four delivers a smooth, high-revving character that is a step up from the parallel-twin competition, and the exhaust note at high revs has the potential to be genuinely rewarding. The stock system, however, is a long, heavy, deliberately muffled unit. An aftermarket slip-on changes the character of the bike immediately.

CB650R Generations

  • 2019-2023: Euro 5 compliant 649cc four-cylinder, single right-side underbelly exit. This is the primary supported generation in the aftermarket catalogue.
  • 2023+ facelift: Updated styling, same engine and exhaust routing. Most 2019+ exhausts are compatible, but verify per product listing.

CB750 Hornet (2023+)

The CB750 Hornet shares the same 755cc engine architecture (a new generation four-cylinder) but uses a different frame and exhaust routing to the CB650R. These bikes do NOT share exhaust systems. The Hornet's exhaust aftermarket is smaller due to its recent introduction but growing rapidly.

GPR Albus Evo4 — Best Road-Legal Option

The GPR Albus Evo4 for the Honda CB650R is EC homologated and produces a sound transformation from the very first ride. The high-revving four-cylinder at 9,000-10,000rpm through the Albus is the sound the CB650R was always capable of. The white carbon finish contrasts well with the CB650R's clean, minimalist styling.

Available for 2019+ CB650R. Installation: 25 minutes. No remapping required for slip-on installations.

GPR M3 Inox

The M3 Inox is the entry-level stainless option in the GPR range. Slightly more aggressive sound character than the Albus, excellent durability for daily commuting use, and the most affordable route to a meaningful exhaust upgrade on the CB650R.

Exan Carbon X-Black

For riders who want the premium visual upgrade alongside the sound improvement, Exan's carbon-bodied canister for the CB650R is the choice. The carbon weave finish on the CB650R's clean bodywork is a significant visual step up, and the sound character is more pronounced than the GPR alternatives.

Crash Protection
