The rear sprocket carrier and sprocket cover are two of the more overlooked parts on a Ducati or MV Agusta drivetrain — easy to ignore until the stock plastic or steel components crack, corrode, or simply look out of place next to the rest of a billet-finished bike. Three Distinct Product Families

Rear Sprocket Carrier (Flange)

The rear sprocket carrier — also called a flange — is the component that bolts to the rear wheel hub and holds the sprocket itself. CNC Racing's carriers are precision-machined billet aluminium replacements for the stock carrier, available in our range for Ducati Multistrada 1000/1100, Multistrada 1200/1260, 748/848/916/996/998, Hypermotard/Hyperstrada 796/821/1100/950, Monster S2R/S4R/796/1100/1098/1198/1200, Streetfighter 1100, Diavel/XDiavel 1200/1260, and Panigale V2/1199/1299/Supersport 950, as well as MV Agusta Brutale F3/B3 675/800/Rivale. Sprocket Cover

A sprocket cover is a cosmetic and protective billet cover that fits over the front sprocket area, replacing the stock plastic cover on models that use one. We stock these for Ducati Multistrada 1000/Paul Smart/Sport 1000 through current Multistrada V2, 748/749/900/996/998/999 and Monster S2R/S4/S4R/S4R-S variants, ST2/ST3/ST4/Supersport 1000, Hypermotard 821/939/1100/1198/Hyperstrada through the new Hypermotard 698 Mono, Scrambler 1100, Panigale V2/Streetfighter V2/V4/Panigale V4, DesertX, and MV Agusta F3/B3/Brutale 675/800/Rivale/Dragster. Several listings include a carbon fibre insert (noted in the product title) for a lighter, higher-finish alternative to plain billet aluminium. Covers span a wide price range depending on generation and material — older, simpler plain-aluminium designs are the cheapest option, while current-model-year carbon fibre covers for the latest Panigale/Streetfighter/DesertX platforms sit at the top.

Sprocket-Carrier-Nut Kits

For riders changing final-drive gearing rather than just replacing a worn carrier, CNC Racing also produce combined sprocket-carrier-nut kits — a carrier plus a specific-tooth-count sprocket and mounting nuts sold as one listing. We stock these for the Ducati Multistrada 1200/1260 (40-tooth, 530 chain pitch), the Ducati 1098/1198/1199 Diavel platform, the Ducati 1199 Panigale /S/R, and the current Ducati DesertX 937 (49-tooth, 525 chain pitch), with tooth-count options spanning 38T, 39T, 43T, and 49T depending on listing, in Black, Gold, or Red carrier finishes. These are the right choice if you're changing gearing for track use or a taller/shorter final drive, not just replacing a worn OEM part like-for-like, and are priced highest in the range because they include a machined sprocket in addition to the carrier and hardware.

What to Check Before Ordering

Exact model and chassis generation — Ducati in particular has shared and non-shared hub patterns across model families (for example, the Multistrada 1000/1100 carrier is a different listing from the Multistrada 1200/1260 carrier, and the current Multistrada V2 uses a different sprocket cover listing again). Confirm your model and year against the specific listing rather than assuming a shared carrier across a model name.
Sprocket tooth-count compatibility — if you're buying a sprocket-carrier-nut kit to change final-drive gearing, confirm the chain pitch (525 or 530, stated in the listing) and tooth count matches your chain and desired gearing change. Fitting a different tooth count than stock changes acceleration and top-speed characteristics and may require a chain length change.
Carrier vs cover vs kit — these are three different products. A carrier is a structural replacement for the part that holds the sprocket; a cover is cosmetic/protective trim over the front sprocket area; a kit bundles a carrier with a new sprocket and nuts. Make sure you're ordering the one your bike and goal actually need.
Finish and colour — most listings offer 2-4 anodised colour options (black, gold, red, and sometimes silver/bicolor); state your preference with your order since colour is not always separately selectable at checkout on every listing.

Material and Finish

CNC Racing machines these components from solid billet aluminium in Italy, anodised for corrosion resistance and colour-fastness rather than painted, with carbon fibre used on select covers for reduced weight and a different visual finish. Because parts are anodised rather than painted, colour is consistent and doesn't chip the way a painted cover can.

What Affects Price

Our range spans roughly $67 at the low end (plain aluminium sprocket covers for older Ducati models) up to around $355-$515 at the top for the most complete sprocket-carrier-nut kits with a machined sprocket included, and current-model-year carbon fibre covers for Panigale V4/Streetfighter V4/DesertX platforms. As a rough guide: plain sprocket covers are the entry point, covers with a carbon fibre insert sit in the middle, standalone sprocket carriers (flanges) run from roughly $145 up depending on model and finish, and full sprocket-carrier-nut kits with a specific-tooth sprocket included sit highest, reflecting the added machined sprocket and hardware.
