Ducati Panigale V4 Crash Protection: Essential Setup with CNC Racing

The Ducati Panigale V4 is the most celebrated Italian superbike of its generation — and also among the most expensive to repair after a crash. Protecting your investment before track days or spirited road rides is a sensible early purchase, and CNC Racing is the billet specialist we can verify stock for the V4 platform.

Building a Protection Package from Real Parts

Rather than a single all-in-one "crash protection kit," CNC Racing's Panigale range is made up of individual, verified components you can combine based on your budget and priorities:

Axle and Wheel Protection

Rear wheel nuts (covering the 1098/1198/1199 Panigale and Diavel 1200 family) sit at the axle ends — the first contact point in many low-speed slides. Priced around £55–£65, this is the most cost-effective starting point for protection.

Ring Nuts and Small Billet Hardware

Steering head ring nuts, available in four colours, and rearset caps add a layer of protection to smaller vulnerable points while also tidying up the bike's finish.

Radiator Expansion Tank Cap

A billet radiator expansion tank cap (covering 1198/1199 Panigale, 848, and Diavel) replaces the OEM plastic cap with a more durable component — a small, inexpensive upgrade.

Triple Clamps for Track Use

For riders doing regular track days, CNC Racing's adjustable-offset billet triple clamp kit (covering 899/959/1199/1299 Panigale architecture) allows steering geometry adjustment — a serious, specialist upgrade at a four-figure price point, not a budget crash protection item.

What We Can't Confirm — And Won't Guess

We don't currently have a verified traditional frame slider (the type that bolts through the fairing at the frame mounting points) in stock for the V4 platform. If that's specifically what you need, email us with your exact model year and we'll check current availability honestly rather than list something unverified.

V4 vs V4S vs V4R Fitment

The standard V4 and V4S share the same frame, so CNC Racing billet parts designed for the V4 are generally compatible with the V4S. The V4R uses a different swingarm and wheel sizes — always check fitment explicitly for the V4R before ordering axle hardware.

Model year also matters: the 2020 Panigale V4 received chassis updates that affected some mounting points. Verify your year against our fitment notes before ordering, or email us to confirm.

Building a Sensible Protection Package

For most road riders, axle-area protection (wheel nuts, ring nuts) plus a radiator cap upgrade covers the most common low-speed incident scenarios at modest cost. Track-day riders considering a triple clamp upgrade should treat that as a geometry investment first and a protection measure second.
