Aprilia SRV 850 and SR 125 Exhaust Systems Guide
Exhaust Upgrades for Aprilia Scooters
Aprilia has long been synonymous with performance, and their scooter range carries that DNA through models like the SRV 850 and the SR 125. Whether you own the flagship SRV or the nimble SR, an aftermarket exhaust upgrade transforms the character of your ride — improving sound, reducing weight, and sharpening throttle response.
Aprilia SRV 850 Exhaust
The Aprilia SRV 850 is powered by an 839cc parallel-twin engine shared with the Gilera GP800, making it one of the most powerful production scooters available. With near-motorcycle performance in a scooter chassis, the SRV 850 deserves an exhaust that matches its capabilities.
A slip-on exhaust on the SRV 850 produces a deep, twin-cylinder note that transforms the riding experience. The aftermarket range for the SRV 850 includes stainless steel and carbon fibre options, with some full systems available for riders who want maximum performance gain.
Installation on the SRV 850 follows standard slip-on procedure — loosen the mid-pipe clamp, remove the OEM silencer bracket, fit and torque the aftermarket unit. A full system on the SRV 850 will typically require a fuel management adjustment to optimise the tune for the new exhaust.
Aprilia SR 125 Exhaust
The Aprilia SR 125 is a sporty commuter with sharp styling and agile handling. The 125cc single-cylinder engine benefits from improved exhaust flow, and the SR's sporty character is well-served by a lighter, better-sounding aftermarket silencer.
For UK riders on a CBT or A1 licence, the SR 125 is a practical and stylish commuter option, and an aftermarket exhaust is one of the most cost-effective upgrades available. A slip-on in carbon fibre or stainless steel suits the SR's aggressive looks perfectly.
GPR Exhausts for Aprilia
At Euro Motards, GPR is our primary exhaust brand for Aprilia models. GPR offer specific fitments for the SRV 850 and SR 125, with their Italian manufacture and attention to fitment tolerances making them a natural match for the Aprilia range. GPR exhausts for Aprilia models are designed to bolt directly to OEM mounting points with no modification required.
UK Road Legality
For UK commuters and road users, exhaust road legality is non-negotiable. Aprilia models must have an exhaust that is either e2 type approved or fitted with its supplied db killer insert to comply with UK noise regulations and pass the annual MOT.
The SRV 850 in particular produces a strong sound even with the db killer fitted — the difference over stock is immediately noticeable. For SR 125 riders, the db killer keeps the sound within legal bounds while still delivering a significant character improvement over the standard exhaust.
Year-Specific Notes
- SRV 850 (2012–2016) — check for ATC (Aprilia Traction Control) equipped models, which may have specific sensor positions near the exhaust
- SR 125 (various generations) — fitment varies by model year; confirm your year before ordering
